Easy Honey Wheat Bread
1 1/2 tsp. active dry yeast
1 cup warm water
1/8 cup almond milk*
1/3 cup honey
1 1/2 Tbl. butter
1 1/2 tsp. salt
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Place the ingredients in your bread machine, set the machine to Dough, and press Start. Easy! It often helps to let your yeast and warm water sit together a few minutes until it gets a tad frothy before adding the other ingredients. I also cut up my butter before adding it.

While your machine is doing its thing, preheat the oven to 325F and butter your bread pan. When your dough is done, transfer it to the pan but make sure the machine's paddle doesn't sneak in! Bake for about 30 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean and the top is golden brown. If your oven runs hot or cool, adjust accordingly. I find with my oven that 25 minutes makes a slightly doughy bread, but 30 comes out perfect. Swipe some butter on the top of that loaf and let others admire your work!

* I hardly ever have regular milk in the fridge, a habit that began when milk prices in our area were $6 a gallon... No thanks! The almond milk works fine for me. Sometimes I'll even use heavy cream if that's what I have on hand. Experiment! You never know what will work!

Brenna's Get Well Soup
2 stalks green onion, minced
3-4 garlic cloves, minced 4 cups water
3 tsp. chicken bouillon
1 cube tomato or vegetable bouillon
5-6 baby portabella mushrooms, sliced
2-4 bok choy stalks, sliced
2-4 hard-boiled eggs, peeled and sliced

Saute onion and garlic in a small amount of olive oil. Add water, bouillon, mushrooms, and bok choy. Simmer until bouillon is dissolved and mushrooms and bok choy are tender. Dish up soup and add slices of hard boiled eggs. 
Enjoy, and get well soon!

*Try adding chicken too!
